I really started to follow music in 1962, the same year I started to follow baseball. On a fateful night in November 1962, I randomly turned on WABC and heard The 4 Seasons sing their current single, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and I just loved the sound and the song. Between then and the summer of 1965, I listened to the radio a lot, watched Ed Sullivan and saw all the hottest groups perform and got to experience the rise of Top 40 radio and rock ‘n roll.
