Julia Nunes and the ukulele seemed fated to be together.She's half Portuguese, and her father is Mañuel Nunes, a name he shares with the Portuguese immigrant who moved to Hawaii in 1879 and was responsible for transforming a Madeiran instrument called the machete into the ukulele.
