TWO-LANE BLACKTOP ZOOMS INTO SPIRIT SQUARE

It was supposed to be the next Easy Rider, and Esquire declared it “the movie of the year” before it had even been released. Instead, 1971’s Two-Lane Blacktop divided critics and was skipped by audiences, resulting in a hasty retreat from the moviegoing consciousness.
Today, it’s regarded as a minor classic by many and a cult flick by all, and now local audiences have the opportunity to lap up what’s long been regarded as one of the quintessential American road movies.

FIRST LOOK AT THE FORTHCOMING T.A.M.I. SHOW DVD FEATURING JAMES BROWN, ROLLING STONES, LESLEY GORE, BEACH BOYS AND MORE

It's a little hard to fathom, the line-up of the legendary T.A.M.I. Show film that was recorded over two days at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in 1964.
There's James Brown and the Flames (before they became "Famous"), Chuck Berry, the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, the Miracles, Lesley Gore (!), the Supremes, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Jan & Dean and more.

SUNDANCE (MOVIE) REVIEW: CATFISH

QUOTE:
It also has a very effective soundtrack, featuring some wonderful, choral re-arrangements of a few BEACH BOYS tunes. The film is particularly well paced, and considering the emotional journey we take, it`s incredible that the filmmakers were able to fit everything into a ninety minute running time.
