The seminal line-up of this celebrated US pop band comprised brothers
Brian Wilson (b. 20 June 1942, Hawthorne, California, USA),
Carl Wilson (b. 21 December 1946, Hawthorne, California, d. 6 February 1998, Los Angeles, California, USA) and
Dennis Wilson (b. 4 December 1944, Hawthorne, California, USA, d. 28 December 1983),
their cousin Mike Love (b. 15 March 1941, Baldwin Hills, California, USA),
and school friend Al Jardine (b. 3 September 1942, Lima, Ohio, USA).
When the aforementioned quintet formed a casual singing group in Hawthorne in summer 1961, they unconsciously created one of the longest running, compulsively fascinating and bitterly tragic sagas in popular music.
